HAVENING

Havening Techniques® is a therapeutic modal that assists people to ‘de-traumatise’ memory that has been encoded in their brain. When the distressing aspects of a stressful life event are traumatically encoded in the brain and body, they become ‘stuck’ and often go onto manifest into psychologically distressing symptoms, anxiety, fears or mental health disorders.

When left unaddressed, traumatic or stressful life events can go on to impact on many areas of a person’s life and present as symptoms of anxiety, panic, depression, phobias, sleep issues, nightmares and flashbacks, insomnia, eating disorders and low self-esteem.

Havening Techniques uses a powerful psycho-sensory approach involving the input of human touch, imagination and gentle guidance. The technique uses the application of gentle touch to the hands, arms and face, which can be either client or practitioner led. What we see is the approach is remarkably different to traditional talking therapy and our clients have often been amazed about the rapid outcomes they experience.

The approach rapidly reduces or removes the traumatically encoded memory or distressing emotional content. It is believed that Havening Techniques alters the biological structure of the brain, meaning that the traumatic memory, emotional disturbances and/or body sensations can be forever removed. This has the power to transform a person’s nervous system to become more resilient, adaptable and confident about the future.

The approach is based on the ever-unfolding breakthroughs of neuroscience and was developed by Dr Ronald A. Ruden M.D., Ph.D and his brother Steven J. Ruden D.D.S., ICF/ACC. Monica Karst is a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner.

The videos below provide an overview of Havening Techniques and how this powerful approach can help you address the ways your past may still be impacting on you today and therefore limiting your future.
